Jennifer & Andy's Engagement in Texas!

Last week I headed down to Austin to get some fun engagement shots of Jenny and Andy.

Jenny is one of my oldest friends (she is 87 - doesn't she look amazing?)

Hee Hee - no what i mean is Jenny and i have been friends since the womb, as our parents are great friends and i have known her family my whole life.

But this was my first time meeting Andy and he is such a great guy!

They are so cute together and so fun!

And any guy who will brave the Texas heat with a smile on gets high marks in my book!

We went all over town and had a blast exploring.

I can see why they love Austin- its such a cool town!

...but not in a temperature kind of way ; )-

so- we took frequent visits inside to cool off!

And of course we needed to get some shots with their Boxer, Max (also known as demo dog) and some of Jen's parents adorable dog Hershey too!

Thanks for being such great hosts, tour guides and models!

Stacy, one of my brides from last year and a talented actress stopped by to get some new headshots.

She wanted some fun color so we took a walk through my alley where there are some great textures and bright painted garage doors

we also took a few in my dining room with some pretty soft window light.

family photoshoot

a few images from the other week- had a fun shoot with family friends...meet kirsten, alix and laura.
kirsten and my sister morgan won the state basketball title together their senior year (go red devils!) but have been friends since they were itty bitty.

i babysat a few times for alix when i was a sophmore in college- now he is going into his sophmore year in college! this makes me feel quite OLD!

but the crazy thing is...im getting younger with every birthday- in fact, last birthday i turned 3 years younger then i was the year before ; )

pretty soon alix and i will be the same age!

so fun to see you all! :) kris

Michigan with Griff

griff and i are up in michigan helping my parents plant grasses on our bluff for erosion control- im getting quite a workout in considering our bluff sits about 13 stories above the beach!
of course we are finding some time to work on other things as well as have some fun and take photos too!

but still, thats a lot of grasses to plant- im definitely sleeping well at night- im exhausted!

LIFT @ Room 21

Last night LIFT held their 4th Annual Spring Benefit at Room 21 with the goal of providing scholarships for children in Tamil, India.


Leading India's Future Today(LIFT) is a nonprofit organization, founded in 2004, dedicated to the development of leadership excellence within the young people of Tamil Nadu, India, regardless of background, caste or religious tradition.


LIFT's goal is to identify and bring children together across religion and caste to provide leadership based education and training. LIFT seeks to provide the necessary building blocks so that the students may transform their society from within by helping combat poverty, unemployment and disease.

There was a fantastic turnout last night where the crowd spilled outside to enjoy the weather.

The organizers...amazing job putting together this wonderful event for a great cause!

blues on the north shore

lynn orman of orman music group put together a fantastic tribute to the life, legacy and music of chicago blues legend and 2008 grammy award winner honeyboy edwards. this event was held at space in evanston wed night and also featured eddy clearwater and barrelhouse chuck. read more about it here!

Congratulations Jenn & Tom!

Jenn and Tom tied the knot at St. Mary's church in Lake Forest, followed by a reception at Exmoor country club in Highland Park. Kara Hiller of Botanicals did a wonderful job with the flowers and coordinating the day and the Stu Hirsh Orchestra kept the party in full swing! Thanks again to the fabulous Nancy Newton for assisting me with the photography!

These two are adorable and clearly have so much fun together! (I could have made this post all about the dance photos- this crowd knew how to have a good time!) I was so looking forward to this wedding as I have had the pleasure of shooting a few of Jenn's friends weddings which were amazing and gorgeous and Jenn and Tom's was certainly no exception!
