i'm off to hawaii for a week of adventure! while there i intend to hike to poaeka falls, kayak the wailua river, explore the napali coast, and pick up a kitchy hula dancer doll and a tiki icon too (much like the one greg brady found...but hopefuly not cursed.) 
i will have my laptop down there so will try and check in via email to any work issues or questions, and of course i will be sure to post some pics when I get back! until then.....ALOHA!
my mission of the week was to get my taxes done... so i locked myself up in my office with tons of bank statements, credit card bills, receipts, wedding contracts, mileage charts, 1040 C forms, IRS instructions and i ...did everything else that i could think of!
i cleared out my computer- backlogged all my personal photos, i cleaned out my file drawers, i looked up a million different website, obsessed on lost.fm and found some awesome new bands, i started twittering, i cleaned the ceiling fan (it was really gross) i filled out every single stupid category of my Facebook profile, i checked my Google standings (by the way- iklik must mean something in Swedish) then finally in a moment of clarity- i realized i shouldn't tackle my taxes on my own and made an appointment with an accountant who saved me from the brink of insanity, and now I'm proud to report.....my taxes are DONE! go me- it only took me a week to complete a 2 hour long project!

The St. Isaac Jogues Children's Choir, Angels Sing Inc. put on another fabulous concert @ Hinsdale Central High School this past Sunday.

a few pics of another michigan weekend (all with my new point and shoot)- was chilly on friday but warmed up sat and sunday- im starting to see flowers blooming all over my neighborhood- getting optimistic that spring is really here...and chicagoans know what that really means- a huge blizzard is probably on the way! 
had great time at the lake this weekend. we had friends come up and meet us and we all enjoyed the gorgeous weather, we went on a few long hikes, out for some great meals, and did a lot of relaxing. while we were waiting for our friends arrival- i shot this video of griffey with my tiny new pocket camera that also has video. (i also shot video of pete attempting to climb a tree- but it was not pretty- it was funny- but not pretty- so he won't let me post it.) so instead here is griffey showing off his tricks....(make sure you have the sound on or you won't hear his barking brilliance).
A few of the latest Forrest pics- he is such a doll! I went over on Tuesday where spring teased us with 70 degree temps so we had a chance to get some outside pics too. Now it is back down in the 40s- booo! I took my dog on about 12 walks on Tuesday- had to take full advantage of the weather. Today it's back to the grindstone- will start to edit through the rest of these Forrest photos- these are just a few that caught my eye on the first run through.
And this afternoon I'm heading off to Michigan for a looong weekend- coming back Sunday to take Spring Concert photos for St. Isaac's. They will be posted to my proofsite by Wed. so check back soon!
pete has been in texas for a few weeks for work, and had been preparing for his work down there for months before that- so even when he was here i barely saw him. but the project is finally over and he is back - to celebrate i made him a "welcome home" cake. ummm... yeah- i know what you are thinking- but the "home" part didn't fit -those mike and ike's are a lot harder to write with then i anticipated...
anyway- the real project ending celebration is that we are heading to kauai at the end of this month (hence the tropical umbrellas on the cake- move over martha stewart- hee hee) ALOHA!

My sister is involved with an amazing charity, LIFT. Last fall she traveled to India with a group from LIFT and this video highlights the trip and what they learned.
This Thursday there is a special opportunity for anyone who may want to learn more about LIFT and meet the man behind it all...Father Jamels James. Father Jamels is visiting Chicago from Tamil Nadu, India and will be at the LIFT meeting this coming Thursday evening at 6:30 pm, 711 West Monroe, Chicago. We would love to see you there.
