piper is 1!

im behind on my blogging but i had to jump ahead and post some photos that i took on sunday because it was so fun to see little miss piper again. i first photographed her last summer when she was just a few months old and now she is ready to celebrate her first birthday! amazing to see how fast she has grown. she is too adorable and i loved seeing the photos from our last shoot up on the walls. happy birthday piper and it was great to see you all! :) kris

went down to an engagement shoot last night by buckingham fountain and saw they were setting up for taste of chicago, found all these wall tops that eventually turn into the food booths and loved how they looked stacked together so had to grab a few shots.

N + K engagement (part 2)

i just couldn't resist posting a few more pics from niki and kevin's awesome session as we got soo many cute ones! these shots were taken right across the street from my place, i have this cool old factory building that i can't believe i haven't used before....well i guess i have used it for a photoshoot...but this is the first time in a photoshoot that wasn't of my dog ; )

N + K Engagement

okay, so maybe i'm biased, but i seriously have the cutest couples ever for clients and these two are another adorable example of that! we hit my favorite park for some nature shots and then under the el tracks for a more urban feel. we scheduled our shoot right at the golden hour- when the light is oh so yummy!
it was so fun hanging out with you guys- i can't wait for your wedding in august!

K+M Wedding!

Katie and Matt tied the knot just outside of Galena at an amazing spot called Oak Hill. It was picture perfect americana with the old fashioned wooden church, the red barns and rolling green hillsides, I felt like i was in a Norman Rockwell painting! The setting made for an amazing backdrop and it always helps when the bride and groom are adorable! The rain that had drizzled on all morning decided to quit just as we stepped outside for photos, and it turned into a perfect day!

This was an extra special wedding for me as Katie is the youngest sister of one of my college roomies. I have had the pleasure of attending all 3 sisters gorgeous weddings- first Sarah and Matt's in Costa Rica, then Jen and Tom's in the fall of 2006 where they trusted me to photograph one of my first weddings, and now Katie and Matt's in the countryside! They have the sweetest, cutest family and I can see Matt fits right in. So fun to get to capture your big day- can't wait to share the rest! xoxo- Kris
