Kansas City
went to KC to visit pete's sis Molly who is doing her medical residency there- i had never really been except for passing through so it was fun to check out the town, starting with the awesome farmers market, pete and molly went bananas over it...hee hee
the weather started off a little gloomy- but didn't slow us down
pete and molly drink up at a cute breakfast spot in the market
next up, molly in front of the WWI memorial which was very pretty, on a hilltop overlooking downtown
there are thousands of names carved on to the entrance pathway
into the museum to purchase our tickets for the tower lookout
pete charges ahead
being memorial day weekend we thought the place was going to be packed
but we lucked out and happened to hit it at just the right time (between a few light rain showers) so had much room to ourselves
don't jump molly- you have so much to live for! okay...she's not jumping- only admiring the cool views of downtown
on top of the tower- im sure they are thinking, "kc sure is perty!"
KC is known as the city of fountains- they say the only city with more is rome- here we are walking down to one right by the main shopping ave
can you tell which ones are sculptures and which ones are just pete and molly pretending to be sculptures? i didn't think so! we are sooo tricky like that!
leaving the modern art museum-pete watch out- you are about to be attacked by a ginormous spider!
besides visiting the modern art museum we also went to the negro league baseball museum and the jazz museum which were very cool ( sorry- no pics- no camera's allowed!) but if you go to KC you should check um out! here are a few snaps of the area in which they are located
then a visit to KC's up and coming gallery district
and to finish it up- molly in the power and light district - a huge section of outdoor bars downtown
thanks for showing us a great time molly- we had a blast! xoxo kris
