NYC trip
it has been a few years since we were in new york city, and last time was a cold and rainy november weekend so it was nice to walk around in the warmth. (except for our 4th and final day as it was a little too warm!) but it's always a great town to explore...especially with a camera : )
we started off our trip by walking across the brooklyn bridge- quite cool!
and then i think i have the rest of the days kinda mingled together on here. we planned only one big "touristy thing" a day and spent the rest of the days wandering around- exploring the neighborhoods and eating some amazing food!
MOMA = awesome awesome!
pete and john lennon
on the stairs in front of grants tomb
by the ghostbusters school- (some people call it columbia)
in tribeca we walked by the fireman's museum so thought we would pop in. it was pretty cool to see all the old tools and trucks- and it made me think of my grandfather who was a volunteer firefighter in garner, iowa.
the west village
chinatown!
and i finally figured out why doctor suess had that book about what you will see on mulberry street- its the main street in little italy and you feel like you could see anything...
happy pete
again....happy pete ;0
moonlight and new york!
guess which one is the real statue of liberty?
ellis island! my great grandmother was born on the island while her parents were waiting to be processed through immigration. it is pretty remarkable to tour- you can feel the history
in the great hall
yankee stadium! we went to the big rivals game- NY v Boston! I wore pete's cincinnati hat to show i supported neither team ; )
still- pete wanted NY to win cause he "hates the red sox more"
but after hearing the tape they had on in the bathroom "one word in all of sports exemplifies brillance, perfection, greatness- and that word is yankees" well- i thought i might have to root for boston
but of course i barely paid any attention to the game and just looked around... even saw kurt russel! and i have to admit yankee stadium is a pretty sweet venue
beeeeeeeer heeeeeeeere!
and my own personal beer vendor!
pete snapped this of the firetruck- nice work!
goodbye nyc...until next time!
