the babies room!
i had fun pulling together odds and ends for my little boy's room and thought i would share the final result...
the lights above the window are from target's outdoor/garden department. i love how they glow at night. the rocker and dresser are both hand me downs from my parents- the dresser was their first piece of furniture when they got married.
i made the mobile over the crib by cutting up old paper source catalogs. the map i picked up from AAA for free and the fish on the wall is an old kite i found in my parents cedar closet. the pillows are from scraps of fabric i bought at a quilting shop and had my mom sew together. my mom also gave me the adorable robot comforter -she found it at a kids store by our lake house in michigan
the quilts are treasured family heirlooms- my great grandmother made them- they are pieced together from her old dresses. i love concert posters and had several cool ones sitting around that i thought would look just perfect in the babies room. the kasperek stool i nabbed from my little sis who played hoops in college-it was her locker room chair.
the vintage marvel comic postcards i ordered online- still haven't quite figured out what to do with them- but think they are adorable and will find someway to display some.
the crib is another target find and the rug, lamps, frames, shelf and baskets are all from ikea. the antique globe i picked up at a sidewalk sale - i have always been obsessed with maps and globes and think they make great art!
so that is the grand tour... i still have lots of things to get together- diapers, clothes, high chair, stroller etc- but i'm starting to feel semi ready for this little guy...he has been rolling around and kicking like crazy lately- i can't wait to meet him!
